This is why the unemployment rate is such a useless metric. Immigration just prolongs & exacerbates the problem.

Policymakers not addressing the root cause of why the labor force participation rate is declining (stagnant wages, quality of jobs deteriorating, off-shoring, etc.).

    Solution: MORE IMMIGRATION!

    Solution: MORE IMMIGRATION!
    Andrew Yang🧢⬆️🇺🇸 @AndrewYang

The US labor force participation rate has been dropping for about 25 years now as more and more people - particularly non-college educated men - drop out of the work force. It’s now at 62.3% which is anomalously low along developed countries (UK - 78.7%).

@CarolineFreund It’s very disingenuous to use the Sergey Brin, Elon Musk, Sundar Pichai, and Satya Nadella as examples to expand the H-1B visa program.

The latter two did not create the companies they now took charge of. Brin did not come under an H-1B. They’re exceptions not the rule.

@CarolineFreund If you were motivated by the truth, you would ask why is it that 75% of H-1B visas go to Indian nationals & over half of visas get gobbled up by Indian IT outsourcing companies? Is every Indian coming here on the H-1B visa a Satya Nadella? The data shows they aren’t.
